I have not looked at the funny colored pages in years, but Prince Valiant was always one of my historical favorites. That and the Wizard of Id.
Im grateful that Val and the other knights of old took out those Hellgrammites otherwise society and NANFA never could have developed with Dobsonflies the size of Gyrocoptors ruling the skies.
Seining would have been much more dangerous.
We should all be thankful.

That's awesome, but...it's a centipede, one of the big Scolopendra sp. Sorry to be the party pooper!

Too many legs.
I was focused and looking at those fearsome jaws.
Nonetheless im glad all those big bugs are gone.

Seriously, i remember Dinosaur era Dragonflies had 2' or 3' wingspan.
