Crystal Springs in North Muskegon has brook trout. He also has browns, rainbows, and golden rainbows. The owner is John Nelski. Tell him Cecil sent ya.

How many, what size, and how big is your container? One thing you have going for you are the cold air temps this time of year to keep the water temp low. Low water temps mean more oxygen and lower metabolism of the fish.

Although I have a fish hauling tank on a trailer now I've hauled large trout in a cooler with ice from near Grand Rapids to northern Indiana with no problems.

my only worry is that i am in the design and research phase i have no intent of getting any trout till i feel confident i know how to and have the equipment necessary to keep them properly which puts my estimated time of setting up the tank in either late spring or mid summer

If i were you I'd seriously reconsider rainbows or browns. Brooks are very sensitive to stress and prone to bacterial infections.
