What kind of Lamprey is this?

I can't seem to get it to take my photo, is there a problem with the sight or is it just me?

No problem with the site as far as I can tell.

I had problems with the site last night too. Perhaps you can try again Mike?

Mike, is there any way to get a larger image up there? If we can see the detail on the mouth (that's really key) and the region around the fins, that would really help out. A nice find, in any case!

Hi Mike,

I'd need to see a lot more detail, but I'd say it's either a silver or Ohio lamprey.

In the future, it'd help to see better detail in the oral disc. You can see that the teeth are developed enough to be a parasitic adult, but to distinguish between them, you'd need to see some detail on some of the teeth.

Very cool fish!

Todd
