I just didn't want my subscribers thinking I was dead or gave up making videos, so I posted one of my new eel. Check it out!

Meet Eli the Eel!

That's a super cool eel. I catch them sometimes here on Long Island. Your right, they can get very big. I'm sure it would eat raw clams and
shrimp, although that could get very messy re: water quality.

Nice rescue from the China town meat market!

I have a bottle he can fit in with some bloodworms and an opened up clam. Looks like he didn't go in last night :(. I need to get his appetite stimulated.

Give it time and keep that water clean. What are you using for filtration?

Right now nothing. I simply have an airstone. The filter I was using in his rubbermaid seemed so crappy I decided to stop using it(it's a SmallWorld filter by PennPlax). I'm working on getting a Whisper of some sort.

Here's a photo of him from today. I used my cell phone, so the quality isn't great. I can't wait to get a real working camera.

Filtration, or lack of rather could cause stress. If you aren't filtering the water you should do a daily or at least every other daily water change. 10% minimum. Otherwise you are going to get an ammonia build up and kill it or make it sick.

Alright, well I'm going out today to buy a filter. I tried yesterday and Petsmart was closed when I got there.
