Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce my self my name is Herschel Beeman. I live in central new york and I'm a self proclaimed fish nerd. I have had up to 65 tanks going at once(I talked my wife into letting me turn our livingroom into a fishfoom) at that time my wife and I were selling guppies and Afrcian cichlids on ebay. Now I'm down to only 15 or so tanks. I first started with natives when I was a kid. I would send a lot of time in Chittenango creek catching minnows to feed to my turtles. I have seen grown up (sort of) to really enjoy keeping and breeding fish. I have incouraged my wife and kids (12 year old daughter and 6 year old son) to get into collecting fish from our local water ways.Who doesn't like running a seine or dip net through the water to see what you have cuaght. My current collection is:

1- 300 gl tank w/ 1 28 inch pacu named Tiny, 1 green sunfish, 5 clown loaches, several misc. Africans
1- 150 gl w/ 5 blue spotted sunfish, 4 or 5 tiny bluegills, 2 blacknose dace, 1 longnose dace, 4 bluntnose minnows, 5 or 6 banded killifish, 1 blue crayfish (that my duaghter spawned), several brook sticklebacks, 1 unidentifed minnow, and 4 bristlenose plecos.
1- 65 gl w/ several Blue reef Cynotilapia, Psudotrophius elongatus, psudotrophius polit, Synodontus petricola, and bristlenose pleco
1- 55 gl set up for breeding bristlenose plecos 2 male 3 females and 70 or so fry
1- 30 gl misc. Africans
1- 20 gl long riffle w/ 5 tesselated darters, 4 fantail darters, 1 central mudminnow, 8 hifin paleatus corys, and 6 white cloud minnows
1- 15 gl riffle awaiting fish
1-15 gl set up to breed fathead minnows but they are not cooperating
1- 5 gl for breeding cory. habroseus
several 10's and 5's for quarinties and raising fry.

Hope to meet some if you guy and doing some collecting. I'll try to post some pics. of my tanks soon.
Herschel
PS I'm not the best at spelling or typing so please forgive me.

Welcome to the board! Nice collection you have there.
Oh yeah, and you HAVE to take a picture of that unidentified minnow, there are some here (me included) who get a kick out of ID'ing fish, especially sunfish and minners. :-D
