I seen a show recently that showed an odd blenny off the coast of California with a HUGE mouth called a sarcastic fringehead. Interesting fish, they fight open mouth to open mouth pushing each other around with their oversized gaping jaws.
It makes me wonder if any of our saltwater NANFA members have kept this species.

Great video! It's amazing how the fishes' jaw opens up like that. What a cool fish, and its name fits it well!

The sarcastic fringe head is very similar to some of my shelldwellers in respect to defense of homes.

Yes, it was life I saw it on. It makes me wonder if we'll get a new more appropriate smiley for sarcasm on NANFA. A huge gaping fish mouth.
It is said do not keep a fish with any other species that can fit in their mouth because that is where they'd end up. I wonder if that means the fringehead cannot be kept with anything.

California's coast has some truly awesome species.. while California itself has laws aplenty to keep you from touching any of them with a ten-foot dipnet.
