Nice pics! Looks like a Fantail Darter (Etheostoma fabellarae).

Very cool Carl! We were over on Conneaut Creek on Sat and Mill Creek on Sunday. It was some great weather to be out looking. Were you snorkeling or were you just trying to place the camera and get the shot?

And I agree with Brian, these are fantail darter.

Thanks guys, Todd I am snorkeling for these shots. Do you have any suggestions to make seeing the viewfinder easier? I have it set on the brightest setting and I still can't see the LCD. BTW it is a Sea&Sea GZ-1x.

If you can mount a smoke or black piece of plexi over it, it may help. If it's bright out, I am pretty much shooting blind. I've trained myself on the angle when it's been cloudy. Or I usually go up under some trees to equilibrate myself if it's sunny. Saturday would have been a rough day to see, it was very bright.

Sorry I don't have a better answer!

Yeah it's amazing how a "clear" stream can be so cloudy. The cameras are very good at picking up light scattered even by dissolved solids!

Are you using your DSLR's? I looked for the housing model you named and couldn't find it online. In water that is that cloudy, I've found that the little point and click underwater models do the best because you can get them the closest. But you'll only be able to shoot stuff on the bottom. Forget it on anything in the water column, even in gin clear water, the shutters are too slow.
