I went out Easter Sunday to North Powell Creek in Putnam county. Started out great, caught numerous Johnny darters, blutnose minnows, fathead minnows, creek chubs, white suckers, blackstripe top minnows, greensunfish, and one blacksided darter. Kept a liitle of everything except the sunfish.About an hour after I started I bent down and the butt of my new rubber waders exploded. Now their is a 12 inch tear. :mad2:

I've done almost the same thing with older waders.
I crouched down to spear a carp and as I thrust my waders tore out.
Since they were brand new, you may want to try taking them back, because they shouldn't have torn that easilly.

I'll be headed back to the store in the morning. I sure hope I can return them.

Gotta lay off them doughnuts, man! Or else the Mexican food.

A few years back I knelt down to look at a nice sein haul, and the knee of my waders split. They were older waders and I'd gotten good use out of them, but the problem was that I was on the south side of the river and my car was on the north side of the river and the middle of the river was slightly deeper than my knees. I walked up and down looking for a shallower crossing but finally had to bite the bullet and let it flood as I crossed. I looked pretty funny climbing out of the river with one leg of my waders full to knee. Posted Image I now make sure to bring a roll of duct tape to any such outing.

Good idea with the duct tape. Took the waders back and they exchanged them  . So I'll be out tommorrow looking form some different darters.

Busted so many waders it ain't funny.
I remember thinking it looked cool to see the surf fishermen with pliars on their belt. First day I tried it, I knelt down and the point of my needlenose went right through my waders.

Sat on glass.

Had a big wave hit while landing a 20 lb striper and got 3 dorsal spines through my waders and into my leg.

Tripped trying to step over barbed wire, got my knee and the waders.

Fallen on rocks numerous times, usually just my body gets wrecked, sometimes the waders too.

Waders are like sun glasses - it doesn't pay to get expensive ones cause they wreck just as quick as cheap ones.

Wow, I guess I should consider myself lucky. I usually trip and end up wet anyways.
