The Sierra Club, the nation's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization, is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, skilled individual for the position of Associate Field Organizer based in Columbus, OH. Responsibilities include grassroots and grasstops organizing, partner coordination and participation in strategy development for Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign. Additionally, the Associate Field Organizer will represent Sierra Club in the media and coordinate outreach and visibility activities. The Associate Field Organizer works in close cooperation with staff and with volunteer leaders; trains and engages activists, and represents Sierra Club to the public. Travel within the state will be required.

Interested candidates should have more than 1 year experience in grassroots organizing, coalition building and media relations in the environmental movement, political campaigns or similar organizations. Strong demonstrated communications skills, knowledge of environmental issues, proficient computer skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with volunteers and to mobilize community activism are all essential.
