Greetings!

I'm just getting into the whole idea of keeping native fishes and thought this forum would be an excellent place to start. My boyfriend and I are avid African cichlid keepers and we're getting our fingers wet (and arms, and clothes, and floors...) in breeding some species not commonly kept in our local club (The Midwest Cichlid Assocation). Anyway, we're thinking about doing a show tank of native fish (preferably local species) and I've been charged with doing the research, coming up with a stocklist, etc.

This looks like an excellent forum and I'm excited to get to know the people here and learn more about keeping native fish in the home aquarium!

Cheers!

Lauren

Welome kindly to the forum. Hope you find everything you are looking for. I would reccommend pumpkinseeds or other sunfish. Aso, if you intend on collecting your own fish be sure o respect any laws. Good luck on your fishy search.
