I was out doing some fly-fishing and taking a much needed break from work yesterday. In addition to my non-native target species (Steelhead) I caught some nice looking Striped Shiner (Luxilus chrysocephalus) that made it obvious that they were in breeding condition.

As I was pulling this little shiner in, a large-and-in-charge Steelhead made an aggressive pass at him...giving away his location and making him easy picking;

A welcomed change from the ditches that I'm working in while conducting my master's thesis research.
Enjoy,
Nate
