That's a quillback... GREAT find! They aren't often encountered, documented, reported or targeted as much as they probably should be, especially in the river proper. Mind saying where you collected the fish?

Pohick Creek in Lorton, VA. Caught him in a castnet and he struggled quite a bit and threw a bunch of scales. Also, these waters aren't exactly pristine so sores are common.

nice. ive never fished down there. if ashton says it a rarer find then thats awesome...esp with a cast net!
