I have seen people us large long nets that are similar to seines, but there is a large rectangle opening that you just push into the river bed, then after its set, the one person can go up stream and chase the fish down into the already held open net. It would have a 3-4' wide openning about 2-3' high. then the "net" would go back behind this like 5-7' back, so as the fish enter, they do not realize they are in the net til its too late..
Does anyone know what I am talking about or where I could buy one?

Where would i find this info?
If you were a NANFA member, you would have received a "how to make your own" instructional in American Currents (the NANFA quarterly publication) but you could PM member philipkukulski here on the forum and he should be able to advise you which American Currents issue to order from Tom Watson.

Not to denigrate BG or cost him any sales, but he and I did some testing of the darter gator some years ago (an earlier prototype, but similar in concept) and it did not fare well. I used to have some pictures but I lost them. The fishes simply swam out of the net. Maybe it was just a bad day. I haven't been in touch with him for quite a while so maybe he has had better success with subsequent iterations.
