Found on river bank. West Fork White River. Central Indiana. It has a root ball and grows in clumps. Seems like I have seen it submerged before.

My guess is Rumex crispus, curly dock. It can stand frequent flooding but I dont think it'll grow submerged long-term.

I think you're right Gerald. I knew I'd seen that plant before, now I know - right along the water line.

i agree, it will not make it in the tank for long!

Or possibly swamp dock? Still an emergent and needs to come out of tank?
