I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as far as a free video editor that can do the same kind of color/contrast correction as mentioned in Todd's thread about GIMP. I'm BRAND NEW to working with video so I have no idea where to start. I got some nice video I would like to share but if possible I would like to polish it up a bit first. Thanks

I made this video just two days ago with the program "Windows Live Movie Maker" which is free online. It let me put two video clips together, mute the sound, add text, and snip a few seconds off of the beginning of the second clip. I've honestly never tried to use it to color correct. I'm not sure if it can or can't.

yes, in most of these video editors there will be a feature called "split"or something like that (they cant call it "cut" cause we all think of that differently now like cut and paste). This "split" creates a break in the video... make one before the bad section... make another after the bad section... then you can actually "cut" or "remove" the bad section.

This is how it works in the Windows Movie Maker that was loaded free on my Windows 8 machine. I used this Movie Maker just the other week to make rough cuts of some convention video.

Try TunesKit AceMovi to polish and crop a video, which can do that. And it suits beginers more than famous video editors like Adobe Premiere. It contains many features for editing such as split, crop, and zoom, green screen, rotate, ect.
