A tad concerned about some of my hornwort...

My 30 gallon tank is currently only occupied by some hornwort. Sadly, much of that hornwort's fronds are surrounded by a white growth which I fear is a pathogen, currently absent from my other tanks. The stuff seems to be slimey (judging from my attempts to grab free-floating versions of it) and has a sufficiently weak grip that some can be removed by a bathroom sink. In any case...anyone know if I should be worried about this stuff, irregardless of what it is?

Could you get a picture? Sounds kind of strange. I've had miscellaneous protozoa attach to my hornwort and make it look like it has clearish-whitish stuff around the leaves before but your stuff sounds more substantial (trying to grab it... sounds like largish wads).

I admit, I'm not entirely sure whether the floating globs was the same stuff or simply some extremely wet bathroom tissue I accidentally got into the tank...
You're probably right about the protozoan stuff. Sounds a lot like what I have...is it anything worrisome? The tank will be getting a paradise fish in it in a few weeks (yes, a non-native, but that is irrelevant) and I don't want to have a tank that could make the fish ill, as the petstore I am getting it from charges an abnormally high $15 for one.
