I dont supose the hotel we are staying at would like 30 people with coolers and buckets and well used wet waders in the rooms so do we have a room for those items or will the hotel smell bad for a week or two :D/
and will we have a trip planed to head down to the coast to get some killie or goby goodies.

Ummm. Thats none of our concern. I am sure they have dealt with much worse.

We'll have a downstairs room for fish displays, so we can leave containers full of water in there.
waders, just shake them out as best you can if you need to take them inside. I'll probably leave mine in the car. i imagine we can probably get the hotel to leave a hose on an outdoor spigot for us.

Wasnt planning any saltwater collecting, but if there's a group that wants to, we can do it. Its 3+ hrs from Greensboro to the coast. Lake Waccamaw is slightly closer, can get Waccamaw killie there. speckled killie (rathbuni) is pretty common over much of the piedmont, and Lined killie (lineolatus) in most of the coastal plain. Gobies are very hit-or-miss, usually miss, unless Fritz has some never-fail secret spots.

I see no reason to take waders into the motel, either. An outdoor spigot would be nice. However, my main concern is having a place to plug in my air pump to keep the buckets aerated. That might require taking the buckets into the room at night.

There are few things more uncomfortable than having soaking wet clothing on a hot summer day. Your clothes stick to you, and you feel like you've been sweating heavily. Yuck! I prefer to remain dry. My daughter will most likely be coming, and I'm sure she'd prefer to remain dry also.

I've been canoeing a few times in the Raleigh area and the water has been great. When we did the Neuse River Cleanup a few weeks back I fell in at the haul-out point and the water was like a swimming pool.

The only time wet clothes are going to keep you down all day long is if you're wearing the wrong kind of clothes for being in the water. Cotton! Cotton retains the moisture, holds it close to your body, keeps you wet all day. Synthetics will dry out much faster and not stick to you so badly when they are wet. I do often wear cotton anyway in the water but mostly because the river water in NC tends to be pretty warm unless you're in a cold spring area.

HOTEL REMINDER

The rates quoted are good until May 7th. The Clarion will still give you these rates after May 7th but only if there are rooms available. If another group comes in, you may be out of luck. Please, when you reserve a room with them, mention NANFA since we are commited to filling a certain number of rooms. Thanks.
