Hi everyone, I found this forum while looking at creating a North American biotope aquarium since I wanted do something a little unusual, at least for an aquarist from this side of the pond. I was particularly drawn to your smaller native species: Pygmy Sunfish, Killifish and Livebearers etc.

Unfortunately many North American natives now require a special license to own or sell in the UK, effectively stopping their commercial import. Even most legal species are quite rare, so i've got my work cut out for me.

However this forum is a great help for the care of the species that I can keep, so I'm glad to have found it.

Welcome, and good luck finding the ones you want.  I know there's some folks keeping Heterandria at least in the UK.
