I am Arely. I am new member of NANFA. I am glad for participated in this association. I am very grateful with my friend Ben Cantrell, who is also a member of this association.

I do not write and speak English very well, but I try my best.

My line of research is reproductive ecology of viviparous fishes.

I work with native species of Goodeidos from Teuchitlán River, in Jalisco, México. However also I work with exotics species of Poecilidos of the same place.

I remain at your service.

Hello Arely!!!

My son Bryan and I were part of the same group in Mexico. Our vehicle taught you that great English word- WISE!&@.  I am very happy to hear you joined NANFA. I would enjoy very much getting updates on  your research in the Teuchitlán River. Ben did a great job showing you how to microfish. I've got lots of pictures of your catches : )

No. At the moment I only work with Goodea atripinnis, Ameca splendes and Zoogoneticus purhepechus as native species, and Poecilia sphenops and Pseudoxiphophorus bimaculatus as exotic species.

Previously I was working with Atherinopsido (Christoma jordani) of the central of México from Cuitzeo lake.

But I'm really new into the research.

Arely, welcome to the forum and welcome to NANFA!  We are really excited to have you join the organization.  Our group had a wonderful time in Mexico, and we were especially excited to learn about the reintroduction project for Zoogoneticus tequila.  Please keep us updated with any progress on that project and any other projects you are working on.  Hopefully soon a few of your colleagues will join NANFA as well!

Ben

P.S.  Here's photo evidence of microfishing being introduced to Mexico. :D

Thank you very much for inviting me to know about this association.

Clear as soon as there is progress of the work of "reintroduction of Zoogoneticus tequila",

I will inform you about it.

Thank you for teaching me how to fish with fishing rods, it was the first time I did it and it was very exciting.

Thanks for the picture.

Arely - welcome to NANFA and to the NANFA Forum!  I look forward to hearing more about your research and the fish that you are keeping.  You may also consider writing an article for the NANFA publication called American Currents - it would be interesting to learn more about the collecting and fish keeping of native fishes in Mexico as well as to read about your specific research as it is developed (even the research plan).  We are glad you're here!

Well, it's better than mine.  In Spanish I can only order food and drinks, ask where the bathroom is, start a fight in a bar, or get slapped by a lady ;)

Not sure starting a fight in a bar is aided by a command of Spanish, but good luck with that.

Thanks to all of you.

We need to practice a little more. But your Spanish is good.

I have been thinking about writing an article from native species of fish in México and publication in American Currents. So I will work on it.
