So, once again seems this forum is not really getting tons of interest but gonna post anyway.
I just posted about Assinica strain brookies.
I have asked the NY hatchery where my own stock came from and apparently they are half what is referred to as Ewing from Canada.  Other half "unknown heritage strain ".

Can't find much info on the strain, anybody have any insight.  THanks.

Most here not with resources needed to keep salmonids.  They require cooler temperatures and get big.  I am capable of keeping most shy of Artic Charr because I have ponds and the ability to chill, but cannot do everything.  Got to set limits.

Your biologist with knowledge you are looking for may not be into this site, yet.  Try contacting you local university to see who is messing in streams supporting what you are looking for.

I am also doing some trout production in a hybrid RAS / flow through system.  Mine are a relatively heat tolerant strain of Rainbow Trout.  Market is food size. Putting real effort into making fish look pretty.
