My neighbors pond started to dry up and he found a few of these guys. It looks like a pumpkinseed. I'm hoping someone can ID so we can figure out what to do with the fish. I have a spare 75g for the 3 he found and they seem to be doing well. They have started to eat pellets and worms. Thanks!

It is a rather good example of a pumpkinseed. Good luck. For future reference, please look at our ID section rules. We cannot typically ID fish in home aquaria. Your situation is rather different than some. The fish were given to you from a private body of water. http://forum.nanfa.o...-in-this-forum/

Beautiful fish! I have a Northern Longear that is beginning to color up nicely.

Wow!! I would love to rescue one of those Pumpkinseeds (my favorite species)! Absolutely beautiful.
