I just want to know if I am properly counting fin rays.  This picture seems clear enough for one of the knowledgeable fish folk here to count the rays.  I never posted this fish here to my knowledge.  I count 9 anal fin rays and i labeled them.  The 9th ray is a little blurry but I think it's clearly there, so I think it comes down to whether the ray I consider the 1st ray is actually the first ray.  Hopefully someone here can confirm if I'm right or not.  Thanks guys

You're count of nine is correct for a ray count for Cyprinids and Catostomids.  Those first one or two un-branched rays are often hard to discern and are usually not counted for those two taxonomic groups.
