Is anyone planning on any trips in the Illinois area anytime in October...would love to see some others collection techniques and meet some fellow fish nuts.

Golly I've been busy the past few weeks and I'll be out of state in October for three weekends sampling. I feel bad for stringing you along. I'm not sure but I might have next weekend open to sample. It would be nice to have one more person but two people should be fine.

Is there anything in particular you want to see?

My father lives on a farm in sandwich. Nice creek there with a lot of deep pools and riffles. My family has owned the property that the creek runs through for over 60 yrs. Probably the most pristine creek I have seen in northeast Illinois. As far as I know it has never been sampled. I have never even seined it, but I'm sure it would be interesting. Somonauk creek if anyone looks for it on a map, a tributary of the Fox. If anyone would be interested... I think it'd be fun. If not, count me in for any adventures on any weekend.

I'm booked this weekend and the following two weekends (10-6 to 10-8 and 10-13 to 10-16) but 10-26 or 10-27 are open for me. Don't let me get in the way of a good time though. If you guys can get a group together before the weekend of the 26th please get in the water.

Let's see....Natureman is in Decatur and Schoolofperch in Macomb and then airbrn and myself up north. We just need to pick a location.

Don't let me down here effect the southerness of the sampling trip. If I'm free, I'm willing to borrow an economy car for the weekend.

The first week in October I am going to the Mississippi almost directly West of Macomb. Keokuk, IA area. There are a bunch of tributaries that I have never explored, and a couple of really nice ones that I have explored. (This is also Geode country if that is any kind of secondary interest to anyone... I know my darters love to go in 'em). Might even do some single line sampling. In addition to that area, the Macomb area has some pretty neat bodies of water. Two man-made lakes (which aren't as fun as what goes into and out of them). We also have the LaMoine river system, which always has some surprises. Anyone is welcome to go with me.
