Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone would like to get out to do some fly fishing here in the next few weeks. I've taken it up pretty hardcore lately. I was hoping to hit the Mad River system. I'd like to fish trout, but I'll fish other systems for Smallmouth Bass as well. Let's see if we can get something together. We can always drop a net in the water too to sample the area.

nate I will warn you the mad is one of the hardest trout rivers around, low numbers of fish holding in hard to drift areas with poor hatches, its the mad river for a reason, it drives fisherman mad. this makes it one of the best places to get polished on your skills, though getting skunked is not uncommon, but I love fishing that river despite all the hard stuff, theres big(giant) fish and some excellent days. I was there this morning for aout two hours of trout fishing and actually did well, some smaller baetis type mayflies are hatching, though I'm not sure they're baetis its the same imitations. there were also blizzards of tiny midges and some caddis were coming off. anyway before I get lost in my flyfishing obsession on a natives forum, that would be fun to meet you at the mad at some point in the next few weeks, if the fishing is slow we could always look for lampreys and t-tieds. If you want more specific info on the fishing feel free to email me, fishlou@gmail.com.
