Lots of us are in the water most weekends when weather and water levels are okay so send me a PM if you want see some neat fish in the area. We usually coordinate via email so we don't flood the forum with topics every week. I'm based out of the South Suburbs of Chicago and admittedly we tend not to go North often to avoid urban water conditions. I hope to meet new NANFA and forum members this year.

Looks like I might try and get out this weekend South of Chicago. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I'd like better photos of P. phoxocephala, caprodes & maculata as well as E. zonale. If we wind up west, I would shoot for Notropis hudsonius and atherinoides from the Illinois River.
I'm still short a few photos for that Illinois project.

If you're planning anything towards the IN/IL border again let me know. If it ever stops raining I'd be interested in meeting up with you again.

I hear you Clayton. This year so far has been really weird as far as temps and water conditions. I hope to get out pretty soon and will post up here with as much notice as possible. Naturally all depends on water levels.
It's been quite a few weeks since I've been out and itching to go.

I can sympathize with you here. It's seems to get ugly right before every weekend starts. I haven't even really been sucessful baitfishing this year. And now the humidity has shown up :P

Water levels are very good in northern Illinois and Indiana. I'll be out this weekend sampling and photographing if anyone is interested.

Assuming the great water levels maintain, I'll be out again this weekend.
PM or email me if you're interested.

Trying to sample parts of the Kankakee/Iroquois, Vermilion (Wabash), Sangamon and Embarras this weekend for Noturus photos if anyone is interested.
Just give me a yell and we'll exchange info.

Damn U, this needs to be rephrased - "I am sampling the entire state"

Uland, some day I am going to make it out there to visit you. I don't know how, and I don't know when, but mark my words, I will someday get there.

Ha! It wasn't that bad Lance but I did trim this trip a bit since I went solo.
Ya know, one time when planning a trip, I noticed that I could hit the Sangamon, Mackinaw, Vermilion (Wabash), Vermilion (Illinois) and Embarras drainages and stay on one page of the Gazetteer.
I'm worn out, but I saw some neat fish. Too bad photo programs can't turn horrible photos into good photos :-(
The Embarras seems a bit messed up but worth a canoe trip in the future.

Nativeplanter, you are always welcome to come on out sampling. Try and take a trip when I'm not scouting or somebody mentions "death march" in association with the trip. No distance is too far to try and find a new fish to photo

hey U.,

glad you had a good trip, and I suspect that your horrible photos are still orders of magnitude better than most folks (including mine!). Might have really some fun stuff going on this coming winter/spring... will keep you (and others here) in the loop.
