Plenty of clear water in fresh and tidal-freshwater. You wouldn't happen to know of spots for Rainwater killies would you? Needless to say, they fall through the regulatory cracks because of where they are generally found is not somewhere where non-gamefish are recorded. Most museum records are decades old...their true status is somewhat of a mystery and we could have an unfortunate awakening when we do find out, i.e. bridle shiner. The same could be said for Spotfin killifish

Hi Matt,
I do not know of any spot with Lucania parva, around here. However I do have historical data/info of the species distribution in our area. I remember one paper mentioned the species as very abundant. The article was published in the sixties, but it is worth reconsidering the areas mentioned (even only for the fun of it). I can send or upload ( I don't know where) the articles mentioning the species distribution in the Bay area.

I do know a spot which is easy to access, where I got 2 different killi species (clearly no mummychogs). At that time I was more familiar with Mediterranean species (hahaha), and I never got to ID the 2 species. I can share the location if you want to give it a try. Maybe it is what you are looking for.

Have you seen in your trips any Gasterosteid or Atherinid species?

RE Fundulus luciae
Bruce, I did not see it or maybe I did not ID it properly, but I also have historical locations in MD some in VA. I can provide the PDFs, too.

Looking for a former NANFA member (approx. 15 years ago) from San Diego. I think he used to be also editor of the AC. He owned a pet shop in Rancho Bernardo. I need his name. If you are still around this forum (which you shouldn't)...hey remember driving/collecting around SD? Email me.
