I found this study http://www.fws.gov/n... SNSPotomac.pdf completed a few years on the Potomac River to be very interesting, both as just a fish lover and as a fisherman. The amount of information in it not even related to shortnose sturgeon is amazing in my opinion. Since I consider the Potomac River my "home water" I found this information to be of great interest. However, those who don't consider the Potomac to be their home water or even a water they visit at all, the information in the study is still of interest. The study confirmed that some fish species I wasn't sure were present in the Potomac River are in fact in the river and most likely reproducing, ie flathead catfish, Ictalurus punctatus. The fact that DO levels, water temp and salinity levels were recorded at each study site at different times of the year was particularly interesting. I haven't been active much on the forum, so much so that I completely forgot my old forum ID and password, so this study may have already been posted but since I am back on the forum I thought I'd share it in case it had not been previously shared... I hope you enjoy it.
