I'll not speak for all Global moderators, moderators and administrators but I will speak for myself in this post.
I want to tell you a bit about myself. I'm an avid aquarist, fisherman, outdoorsman, gardener and all around animal & plant watcher. I've been maintaining fish on and off for over 20 years. I kept natives as a youngster into my young teens when I switched over to tropical fish. Some time not long ago I decided I would learn more about many of the fishes I've observed over the years while fishing. I thought the internet would be a perfect place to gather information about husbandry, distribution and groups to share fish since these fish cannot be found at the local fish store. I quickly felt as though I was one in a million. The internet was not the great wharehouse of sharing and information I expected. I did find two dedicated groups but found information sharing a little clumsy.
I also found there simply wasn't enough of "us" to meet and get in water together. I did find one forum that had quite a strong group of people that had a strong interest in native fish but even there it was an offshoot to a much larger forum. I'm very thankful a place like that exists as I'm afraid I may have given up on natives and not found some of the nicest and knowledgeable people I now call my friends. We came to the conclusion this forum must exist for many reasons. Information on husbandry is hard to come by on a real time basis. Finding local people to share time with in or out of the water helps both parties learn. I want to learn more about natives habit, husbandry and breeding. I'm here to learn. I feel I have much to learn and at the same time I feel I have something to share. I'm not an expert by any means.

I hope to be here for a long time and I can promise one thing, as long as I'm here, I'll continue to learn.
I can't tell you how excited I am this plan came to be. It's all about information and how it's shared.
I hope to hear about your native fish experience as I'm sure you're just like me.
