What stream did the Clinostomus come from. I assume by the frecklebelly that you were in the Ky. drainage?

My favorite is the Blacknose Dace. They can color up pretty good even though they are common and widespread. Were you electrofishing or did you just seine/net these guys out?

Had them in a few spots, working throughout the Daniel Boone a few were in Cumberland drainage, Have had most of our frecklebelly darters up around Red Bird.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing. Are Fantail darters typically that orange in your area? Or was that a result of being shocked (I've seen roanoke darters go totally neon after being hit a little hard). Either way that is a beautiful fish.

NIce pic.s, Thanks for sharing them. There's nothing like a net full of colored up SRBD. Too many cool fish to pick a favorite though.

I wasn't aware Redside Dace were in the Cumberland...where at? Which creek in the Red River drainage were you in for the Redsides, wolfpen, gladie, chimney top?

I'm nearby in Richmond, and the KY regional rep here at NANFA, I'd love to tag along out shocking.

Also, Derek, I actually find a lot of those reddish/orange fantails dipnetting here in KY. It seems like the big ones sometimes get that coloration...never thought that to be odd.

How about a few parasites...
Black Spot Disease

Messed around one stream where almost every single fish we caught was parasitized.

Not really a fish but....

Lepomis

not really good with salamanders outside the genus Ambystoma. I think this might be a Red Salamander

Very nice Redside Dace
Posted Image

Haven't found many of these guys so far this year.
Posted Image

Caught this blacknose at a bad time for him. (He did survive (Blacknose Dace) and wound up finishing the worm shortly after.)

Nice pics. By "Red Bird", do you mean the creek near Red Bird arch? I hike in the Red River Gorge very frequently and I plan to do some collecting there too.
