I know there are a few members on here from the area, I live a bit south of Ozark, Missouri and am looking for a good place to collect native plants for the aquarium. Most of the Local streams I have been to are pretty Bare right now. Any favorite spots for collecting plant life??

I do not have a lot of good information on native aquatic plants in the Ozarks, but I'll try to help a little. In my experience, typical Ozark streams lack submerged aquatic plants. The main aquatic plant I see in Ozark streams is Water Willow. It is an emergent, and I don't know whether it can be easily grown in the aquarium. There is a lot of coontail (or something similar) in the Bull Shoals Lake tailwaters (part of the White River), so you may want to check out Lake Taneycomo in Branson since it is also a tailwater on the White. In general, you will probably have better luck in lakes and ponds - especially if they are clear. Table Rock Lake near Branson is relatively close by, though I don't know what kinds of aquatic plants you can expect to find there. Also, large springs often have submerged aquatic vegetation. Sorry I don't have better specific information, but good luck!
