I dunno - I've got the 3 volumes, never seen the latter.

Well, in case anyone is interested, the answer is...yes and no. Nature Aquarium Complete Works includes a few of the tanks in each of Amano's first three books, but also has a large amount of new material, mostly tanks done after the first three books were finished. Likewise, the three volumes have a large amount of content not covered in Complete Works. Speaking as someone who now has both the first three books (Nature Aquarium World vol 1,2,3) as well as his "compendium" (Nature Aquarium Complete Works), I feel like is worth it to have invested in all of them, despite a little overlap.
