the guys at KSI Aquatics were kind enough to secure a fish I've been interested in for some time now. Upon word of a few specimens for me, I quickly set up a tank just for the fish. I placed an inch and a half of soil in a 10 gallon tank, covered the soil with a bit of very smooth sand and planted the tank heavily. I began the cycle about two weeks ago with ammonia. I finally was happy with the rate of ammonia consumption and decided to move the fishes from the holding tank to their new home. I removed the ammonia/nitrate water and placed new water in the tank. The three swampfish will have the tank to themselves in hopes the male female combination will produce viable eggs.
I snapped photos while transferring the fish from holding to their permanent home.
This was quite an exciting two weeks for me. Dustin and Chip, you don't know how much this means to me. Thanks Guys!

Uland,
As usual, those are some awesome pics. Glad you liked the fish. We had a great time getting out to collect them. Hard to believe there's a cavefish relative found in the swamp. If you didn't pay attention, you would think they were just small salamanders when you catch them.
