This just came out today on the Federal Register about two cyprinid species in Arizona.
"We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), change the status of spikedace (Meda fulgida) and loach minnow (Tiaroga cobitis) from threatened to endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act). With this rule we are also revising the designated critical habitats for both species. These changes fulfill our obligations under a settlement agreement."

The Tiaroga cobitis is a cool looking fish. Shame they are all having a problem. We need a north american version of the c.a.r.e.s program. We'll loose more species from money,greed & pollution then we'll be able to save with out our own version of a 'seed bank'. Like with Tanganyikan cichlids, theres species in bred in captivity under the cares program that are now extinct in the wild.
