A couple of members have noticed that there seems to be a problem with some photos in posts appearing as a small box or icon instead of appearing as the actual photo.
I also got this occasionally when I was working in the gallery.
Can we have someone from the tech side look at this and see if it is a memory thing or a bandwidth thing or what?
Seems like the photos are still there... if you click on them they display OK in a separate window. But that is not the way this is supposed to work. I even noticed that if I refresh the webpage, sometimes different ones of the photos will display and different ones will show as boxes/icons.

it doesnt exactly help, but sometimes I get different pictures... like if the first time I get photo 2 and 6... then by hitting refresh I might get photo 1 only... or hit it again and I might get photos 3, 4, 5 only...

This could be dependant on the browser. Some browsers will start formatting the page with a 'placeholder' and fill in the details after the rest of the image downloads. It's usually more noticible on a slower internet connection.
Could try a different browser, and / or find out what browsers are being used by the members that are reporting problems.
I'm using Firefox and haven't seen the issue.

Michael,
Are you using the media tag to embed images? If not, what do you do within posts to show the image inline?
I am on Firefox on OS-X and I see symptoms of the same issue. I see a random subset of the six images in the yellowfin shiner page.

First I put the photos into the gallery2
Then I create my post and hit the icon above that looks like a polaroid
then I copy the url from the version of the photo that is only 600 pixels wide and put that in the polaroid thingy
this puts the photos right in the post with the NANFA watermark

oh, and I just went to the post to view a reply and now everything looks like it is displaying... I see you have another post about tweaking for speed... maybe that fixed it?

I'm seeing this now as well in both IE and Firefox. It was probably there before and I just didn't realize it.... I see symptoms of the same issue. I see a random subset of the six images in the yellowfin shiner page.
"Feels" like something is timing out before the the images are fully downloaded. Maybe the web server logs might show something?

Bob, are you a very tech savvy fellow? If so we may have to recruit you. We could use a person or two on the forum, to notice glitches, and help us recognize them. Then our tech team could get to work on them. If you are this person, please send me a PM. Thanks, Matt
