Geese you guys are dropping like flies! is anyone on the board still planning on coming other than us locals to the area (myself, nate, and todd)? I think the show will go on because we do have some non-board users coming along but for those that can't make it I'm always willing to go out so any time a few of you want to come up I'd be glad to take you out.

Thanks I'll take you up on that as soon as I can. I was very excited about making the trip.

Carl, some time when I'm at my parents house in hartville I could meet up with you and get out in the local area over there too. Although as you know I'm sure there is not a whole lot of diversity in the Canton area. Or after about May 15th I'll probably be living back over that way anyways.

Sounds good. I've tried a couple spots in Canton without much diversity at all. I may apply for a couple permits for a few more spots. Let me know when you are in town.

The hydrographs are holding up. Let's hope today stays pretty dry. Especially since I'm gonna be out cutting all day, liberating some prairie!

Nate and I started a day early and sampled the Maumee hook and line stile for some dinner... We'll be eating good tonight! Also I caught a monster buffalo and it looked like a smallmouth buffalo, Todd have you seen any of that species in the lower Maumee? Unfortunately no pics of it but it had the taller stocky looking stature and the more subterminal mouth of the smallmouth. I have seen a few in the lower Sandusky but only bigmouths up until now in the Maumee.

Nice fish! Can I come down and partake? Mmmmm... Walleye sandwiches.... Suddenly this pork chop doesn't look all that great ;)

Okay dudes, I'm callin' on tomorrow. Blanchard is flooded. Already talked to Pollick (in fact he brought it up) this will be better anyway because hopefully we can get Ed and Matt out at least, and maybe Carl can make it up too.

Michigan is still looking great, I still would like to do that on Sunday.

Richard, you still in? If not, then I say we just meet at my house and I can even take you home Brian, if you just want to ride up with Nate.

I can also finish my thesis and get some hours in tomorrow, so this is going to really help me anyway.

Let me see what Steve's schedule is and then we can look to do a resched? How does that sound?

Thanks!

Todd

Yes, I've only ever seen smallmouth buffalo... Lordy, you think you hooked into a freight train when those things run the first time. I think my usual comment is "Okay, I am not the one in control of this situation!" lol

I've also had them snap off clean when I accidently snag them with crankbaits. It's like BAM! and then silence. In fact, I just stopped using crankbaits for this reason. Got too expensive. Smalljaws like the yamamotos probably more so anyway.

Of course, I never have my camera with me either. We need to profile the suckers we bi-catch this season. I know I've caught river redhorse in the past before I really got interested in the non-game species.

...and so it goes. This is why I don't plan organized trips any more. Life gets too much in the way of having fun :-(

Todd I'm still up for Sunday at this point.Wife might come along also..Pretty much expect me at the cabellas meeting point or if really not needed I'm sure I can find you at Sharon mills..If something changes quickly just have fun and do not wait up for me. I can find you if I have an idea where you will be at and when. Gotta love GPS and GIS :P

Honestly Richard, it's your choice, unless Brian and Nate would prefer to meet there rather than meet at my house.

That's excellent your wife is coming along. Erika is pissed she has Maple Sugaring that day.

We're hoping to film Lampsilis mussels at Sharon Mills doing their little display. I was up there in early April and both the pocketbooks and wavy rayed were doing their thing. So we may spend a little bit of time. But Uncle Jeffro has a little SE treat for us at the next stop. Then we can call it from there.

We're welcome to make use of the cabin at Lake Wilson if she's gets tired and would like to take a nap while we hunt for Iowa darter and those black X shiners.

I think this will be a nice day out. Weather looks like it's going to cooperate too.

Well then that's up to Brian and Nate..I know where Sharon mills is at so it's no deal to me to find it. Just let me know where you will be at and a good meet up time. I'm assuming that if I'm a bit late to just look for the weird people in waders looking at and filming displaying mussels...Not something that should be hard to find.... :P

ok thats fine I personally was much more interested in the Michigan trip and that sounds like a good plan to just meet at Todd's and save me some gas! Then Nate can leave when ever he wants and I'll be in for the day. I see the Ohio fish all the time and was just planning on showing the out of towners around and since none are coming MI is much more appealing. I'll give Nate a call right now to confirm this.

Since you're the only one meeting us Richard, why don't you meet us at 10:00 at Sharon Mills. It will be a lot more fuel effective to do. The Cabellas stop was in part for the out-of-towners, but since we won't dally there, there's no reason to meet there.

Brian and Nate, why don't you guys plan to be at my house at 8:00. We'll pick up Jeffro, hit Cabellas for liscences, and be on our way.

How does that sound?

Okey dokey. I'll see Brian and Nate at 8:00 and Richard at 10:00!

Spozed to be super nice, at least as far as they know right now ;)

Maybe we can also settle the debate between Jeffro and me wether Flogging Molly is the ultimate refinement of what the Pogues started, or if I am in fact committing sacrilidge for overlooking Dropkick Murphy's "Do or Die".

Yes, overlooking Dropkick Murphy's is certainly sacrilige. Though Flogging Molly is somewhat more true to form, I prefer the hardcore/Oi sound of Dropkick Murphy's.
