Hey Folks,

Guess I joined this forum several years back, but haven't really been active on it, using it as more of a resource. I originally joined after acquiring some native fish from one of the members here.

At any rate, I'm a long time aquarium keeper and I have done a fair amount over the years with natives; Green sunfish, Pumpkinseeds, bass, bullhead catfish, assorted minnows, and trout. I have also collected, kept and hatched various invertebrates over the years, including dragon and damselflys mayflys, stoneflys, leeches, and crayfish to name a few.

As I age in the hobby, I find myself draw towards N. American natives more and more, but I also find myself looking for something that I can maintain long term.

I currently have a custom 40B turtle tank set up as a paludarium with a continuously breeding population of White Cloud Mountain minnows and I'm working on a similar tank for North American pygmy sunfish. My dream tank (yet to be achieved) is a 30gal coldwater sculpin tank. Tanks are planted with locally harvested aquatic and semiaquatic plants.

Most of my tanks are set-up as paludariums using a method I've developed over the years. All this started with a simple 20gal turtle tank that was originally designed to hold carnivorous plants and fish. Never had much luck with the carnivorous plants, but fell in love with the tank style.

Welcome back! I'd be interested to hear about collecting in Wyoming. That's one big, beautiful state; wonder what it looks like under the water.

Thanks. Most of my collecting is done in some of the larger streams and a few local ponds with food strainers. We gather mostly invertebrates, but occasionally I bring back a few fish to throw in the native tanks. Mainly I focus on fry or minnows any more, watching bullheads mature from fry to adulthood is certainly one of my favorite memories.

Welcome back! I've also been gone for a while but starting to get back into the hobby.
