Posting this here because I don't want to put anything in front of Ben's Sandy Creek / Hog Farm post on the conservation board. That, and I am curious as to the specifics of the removal of obstacles to the Moapa dace's instream movements. Am I correct in assuming that USFW put the obstacles in place to separate the dace from the tilapia they were eradicating? Is the stream in the Moapa picture collage the one in which the dace live?

I don't know the exact details, but I'd say that some barriers were put in to stop Tilapia, while there may have been some existing ones in the system as well that could have restricted movement. I have mixed feelings about these things as it is only a matter of time until Tilapia get back into the system. I don't know the specifics of their plan though, thus they may have contingencies built in to deal with reinvasion.
