So I went to my friend's new LFS yesterday and he said he often gets in things like darters, shiners and occasionally sunnies in with his feeder shrimp and he gives them away every week. I told him I'm doing a 55 native and he said if the room in my house where the tank will be goes higher than 78 I'll have problems. Well I'm gone literally every weekend from the end if April to the middle of September and somebody in my house that cares for my fish while I'm gone has a reputation to let the temp go over 80 in the summer. It would only ever go above 80 on the weekends but I still worry that even a sunfish can't take that heat, what do you guys think? Will a green sunfish be ok with those temps?

My Sunfish are in a tank which has seen water temps from the upper 40s in winter to the low 90s in the summer. True coldwater species will be unhappy long before the tank sees 78. Most feeder shrimp are raised in FL, and the contaminants are FL species. which won't have a problem with normal tropical temps.
