Elassoma sp. in 10 gallon.

Are all of the Elassoma genus suitable for a 10 gallon?

If so, how many of each type of species, separately?

This is for the distant future. Right now, I'm trying to figure out all the species of fish suitable for a 10 gallon, maximum.

So what is the max amount of these fish in a 10 gallon?:

-E. zonatum

-E.evergladei

-E. alabamae

-E. boehlkei

-E. gilberti

-E. okatie

-E. okefenokee.

If you only know about a few or one of the species, please respond.

I would put two adult males and 4 to 6 females (any species) in a 10 gal, with a visual barrier in the middle (wall of plants, wood, etc).  E. zonatum tends to defend a larger area than the others, and even some females can be aggressive.  If you are new to keeping Elassoma, try evergladei, okefenokee, or gilberti first - those three species seem to be the most adaptable and easy to breed in captivity.

Note:  E. alabamae is federally protected and some of the others are protected in certain states.
