Emerald Shiner?

Last one for awhile, I promise!

I was fishing Bass Creek in Boone Co., Missouri today, just a few miles from yesterday's spot. This intermittent creek runs into Bonne Femme Creek, which runs into the Missouri River.

I caught several of these minnows today in some leftover runs with minimal flow. When I was catching them I thought Rosyface Shiner, but I returned home and saw that Rosyface Shiner doesn't really live around here. So, that, coupled with another look at my photos, makes me wonder if these were Emerald Shiners? If not, am I at least in the correct genus? 

No photos of them, but the dorsal fin had 8 rays and the anal fin had either 10 or 11, I couldn't get a really good count in the field.

That is your version of rosyface. Carmine according to Ben. Right genus , and one of the tough ones in my neck of the woods. Rosyface, emerald and silver all in the same drainage.

Oh, for crying out loud, this fish ID stuff is going to drive me nuts! I should have just stuck with my initial ID on this one then? At least I was originally on the correct path!

You'd think, as someone who reviews bird observations and constantly preaches, "follow the field marks, not the range maps," to other birders that I'd do the same with fish!
