violet/dragon goby (Gobioides broussoneti)

spotted sleeper goby (Dormitator maculatus)

Freshwater goby (Gobionellus shufeldti) - looks like a tessellated darter

What native goby species that could be found in freshwater/brackish water?

Lyre Goby – Evorthodus lyricus

Darter Goby – Ctenogobius boleosoma - These are typically more marine, but I have found them in brackish water.

River Goby – Awaous banana - Rare, but I've found a couple.

And just to tease fritz:

Freshwater goby – Ctenogobius shufeldti

Didn't we decide that we saw a Code Goby just a couple of weeks ago in Florida? That water was not at all salty.

Yes, we saw a code goby in Chassahowitzka. I have also seen clown and seaboard gobies in the FL springs. In fact, I think the goby we saw at Silver Glen was a clown goby.

everything comes into fl springs, so they are not a good metric of fresh/saltwater, apparently salt can go fresh easier than fresh into salt

Here are some more that have been collected in Maryland, and probably would be found in Florida I think. I included a couple marine ones that might be found in brackish water too, but in Maryland have only been found in marine waters.

Brackish:

Naked Goby (Gobiosoma bosc)

Seaboard Goby (Gobiosoma ginsburgi)

Green Goby (Microgobius thalassinus)

Marine:

Highfin Goby (Gobionellus oceanicus)

Clown Goby (Microgobius gulosus) - mentioned above
