I found this plant that looks like a fern in this forest near my house. It's within 10 feet of a big stream in Scioto county Ohio. Anyone know what it is and if it would do well in a native paludarium set up?

This is out of the scope of our forum. Maybe someone will PM you with an answer. Here we do try to mosty keep it to life in the water.

Okay. I assumed as much. Thought I'd give it a shot.

As much as many of us would like to include more, we are a fish forum. We do loosely accept other water related critters and aquatic plants. Sorry I can't be more help. Frankly I do not recognize the plant. Matt

I don't recognize it either, but it does not look like a fern to me. Watch it - I bet it flowers in the spring.

It's okay, man. I understand. This is just the only place I thought to ask. It might not be a fern. I just thought it looked a lot like my rabbit's foot fern.

Maybe Geum canadense? (rose family - not a fern)
