I would like to see more NANFA members' photos in AC. We often need photos of particular species to illustrate articles, but there are also times where we could use good photos elsewhere. For example, I try to use the back cover for photos that are beautiful or funny or just plain cool, without necessarily being connected to any of the issue's content. I always need photos of moving water for the top of the Riffles section (my "rule" is that the photo has no people, nothing man-made, and no fish). The front cover generally shows a fish or fishes that are in an article, but that's not required.
Sometimes we have extra space that could be filled by a couple cool photos and captions, such as photos from an expedition or event that doesn't warrant a full article.
Of course everyone who attends a NANFA event or convention and takes photos should be sharing them with us so we can choose the best ones to illustrate the articles about the events.
So if you take a photo that you're proud of, consider contacting us or posting it here. I can't promise that we will use it quickly, or even that we'll use it at all, but give it a shot.
(Make sure you also supply all the info needed for a caption: ID of any fish(es) or people, location, date, photographer name, explanation of the event, etc.)
Thanks!

This is an idea we have floated a couple times, only not so member focused as this approach is. I like this approach a lot, Olaf. Hopefully NANFAns will respond, because so many of us have at least one fantastic photo. I'm no pro or expert or anything, but even I luck into a nice shot every once in a while. I certainly plan on sending Olaf some!

Perhaps we can set up a central locale to drop photos?

Here are a couple that I'm proud of, my favorites.  I had both blown up to large sizes and are hanging in my house!

You can use any photo you like from my gallery/gallery archive. Expect an update soon. I just resized a few more convention/after convention pics and have a few snorkeling trip pics to resize, then I can upload them.

olaf, are you a photographer, and might I have seen your work on sites dedicated to other topics?

I guess late is better than never. My photo of the Olentangy River on October 7th, 2018. I was out catching rainbow darters and finding city named paver bricks.

The second photo is of the rainbow darter I caught that day. He's adjusted well to tank life and in this photo, he has caught a live minnow fry that I had put in for them to eat. These guys are QUICK when it comes to catching minnow fry.
