Broadtail Madtom? I caught about ten and they were all about 2 inches or below.

2 and 16   Dusky shiner

3, 4, 10, 13-15 Bluehead chub

7  Piedmont darter

9  Greenfin shiner

Can't tell what the other shiners are.  I am intrigued by the madtom.  It has a body shape like insignis and a tail more similar to gyrinus.  I have only ever held 2 broadtails and that was many years ago so I'm not sure.  I will call in some help.

Thanks, I was reading up on the Broadtail Madtom just now, they are in the Lynches River system where I was at. I caught about ten and they all were under two inches, a little short for Margined Madtoms I think. Thanks for the info, beautiful spot.

Also, you are unlikely to find sandhills chubs in the Lynches proper.  The are Semotilus and like small, headwater streams.  You are in the right are but look for small tribs of the Lynches.
