My first issue of the NANFA magazine came in the mail today. I didn't get to read it yet but the paper quality is much better then expected. It is pretty thick and the photos look great on them. Tons of pictures too. I looking foword to reading. Good job to whoever is in charge of it.

It is a most excellent publication... especially considering 100% volunteered.

We as NANFans have a lot to be proud of.

And it may be the first time that microfished specimens are featured on the cover! :D

Microfishing Fever; Catch It!

Seriously, though, Cu455, you are correct.  Olaf Nelson, Konrad Schmidt, and Fritz Rohde are the big dogs of American Currents.  And yes, they do a kick-butt job. But as Casper mentioned, it is a totally volunteer operation and is always welcoming contributions.  If there's an interest of your's you'd like to see in AC check with one of those gents or pm me and maybe you can see your "baby" into the future issues, too!

But, assuming you keep catching cool stuff, it won't be the last.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. We are proud of how far AC has come and are always looking for ways to make it better.

As Matt said: WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR IDEAS, ARTICLES, SUBMISSIONS, PHOTOS, ART, ETC. If you have an idea, contact Konrad or Fritz. If you know someone (whether they're a member or not) who's doing something interesting involving native fishes, convince them to write an article. (Then convince them to join NANFA.)

I've also just gotten my first issue within the last week! I'm likewise impressed with the quality, not to mention the content.

I've produced two newsletters for nonprofit orgs and the one produced by NANFA is better by far. Love the photography and lay out. Not an easy thing to do btw.
