Well setup a NANFA table again at the EIAA Annual Fish Show. Something different this year, NANFA got a blurb on one of the local news affiliates. I also setup a 20 gal creek tank though the Bleeding shiners didn't show too well after being moved from a 125 to a 20 gal tank. Don't  get me wrong they looked good but the male lost most all of the red he had prior to moving him. That combined with alot of people staring or walking by kept them pretty jittery. All in all though, the first day went quite well. I probably repeated  myself dozens of times, spoke to people from Mo., Co., Ill., Canada, as well as @ 100 or so from Iowa.... Here are a few pictures I took prior to the fish show opening up to the public.

Nice job, Ken... I don't care how the fish showed... it looks like and sounds like you showed very well!

Thanks guys.... I loved doing it. Estimating (conservatively) that I spoke two 200+ people, ages from 10 years old to 70's between both yesterday and today. Repeated myself about NANFA dozens of times, what we're about, activities we do, the fish in our state and why we should be concerned about them..... A number of people of course would talk about fish they had seen as a kid, or caught etc. but many more showed real concern and interest. Hopefully we'll see membership in Iowa increase from this again this year. I also got a chance two remind a couple members not to forget to renew their memberships that were going to be coming due.....

And of course, the Bleeding shiner male started to get some red color back shortly before I had to tear down the aquarium to bring them home. Probably will go with something else for next year. I've already reserved a table ..... :) Here's a short video of the tank....
