I've caught many but never kept any. I've now added a few to both tanks. Tanin tank (40 ga) now has 3 creek chubs and 1 bluehead, all about 3" long. Small desk tank (6 ga) has six blueheads? of various small sizes. I'll move them to the 40 as they get bigger. Any special considerations I need to be aware of? I've heard they're pretty easy.

I kept creek chubs briefly.

My experience was they will eat almost anything, including each other, if there is enough of a size discrepancy. I also don't think a 40 gallon tank is big enough long term for them though it should work for awhile.

Jason is right.  I kept some 4-6 inch Creek Chubs with a small bullhead cat  They do eat everything and are pretty tough.

I also keep bluehead chubs with mixed schools of yellowfin shiners and other locals.  They are very peaceful most of the time even when there is a size difference.  Their mouths are not as huge as Creek Chubs so they are not as likely to each a shiner or darter.

The only fish my Blueheads ever gave trouble to was a Creek Chubsucker. And I think that had more to do with the timid nature of the chubsucker than anything the blueheads did. Kept the Blueheads with many different shi

Thanks for the info! They seem to be adjusting to tank life just fine so far.
