I've had "Amazon" biotope tanks for the past 30 years; successfully breeding Angels and Apistogramma.

Recently I became interested in fish indiginous to my home region.

I was born and raised here, left for many years (courtesy of the US Army) and have manged to live and work in seven US states, the former DDR, "West" Germany, Ukraine, Russia, Holland and Belgium.

A near fatal motorcycle accident in 2005 changed my life so i returned "home" permanently.

Singe, I've never been married and have no children.

There have been lots of wonderful women in my life, but my fear of commitment has always interceded.

So now I'm retired and able to pursue all of my "nerdy" hobbies (including amatuer radio) with no apologies to anyone.

Looking forward to learning as much as possible about our North American native fish!

Welcome,

Look around, consider joining NANFA.

We have an annual convention where we all get together and sample fish, and informative speakers. Usually we get to take some fish home for our aquariums.

We are a wide group of people from all walks of life, but everyone loves fish, and talking about them.

There is a great quarterly publication "American Currents"

Sometimes there are also regional trips or events, I am the Indiana Regional Rep. and I'm here if you have any questions, or suggestions.

Welcome!  So glad for those who defend our country!  We were just in your neck of the woods.  Beautiful beaches on Lake MI!  Indiana Dunes.  Did a day in Chicago as well.  Loved it.
