What is it like breeding the fundulus sp.?

Try searching the forum for these topics. Studfish are a neat fish, and some of the fundulus have been covered pretty thoroughly at times. I bet you'll find some useful stuff. You can then either start a new post with some more focused questions, or bump an old thread that gets to what you want to discuss.
For one, I've never seen a studfish in person, but do hope to, they're beautiful fish!

Very! That's why I want to breed them!
I've kept Northern Studfish for 2 years and they have never spawned to my knowledge.
Have you actively tried? Or have they just not breed?

They are skittish to start with. I haven't actively tried to spawn them, but they do color up during spring/summer. They spawn over sand and pebbles in the wild. I have sand, pebbles and a spawning mop on the bottom in the tank with them.
