Is there a sharp spine on that pectoral fin that he holds erect?

Didn't appear to be a spine. Just a really tall fin, much taller on the males.

Very cool fish and video. What do you think the two flounder were doing in that scene when they were together? Territorial or mating ritual? Or, just tolerating each other?

I think those were the two males squaring off. They were both pursuing the same female.
